The Gospel in the Stars

Imagine it's twenty years from now and you've never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Imagine you're living in a society where the 'rainbow' means 'gay pride'.  Since you've never been to Sunday school, you've never heard the story of Noah and his ark and that the rainbow was a sign of covenant that God put in the sky to promise He would never again destroy the earth with water.

Imagine your surprise to find out that the rainbow has a meaning from God for mankind that has nothing to do with homosexual beliefs.

Well, that's how I felt when I read, "The Gospel in the Stars."

When I was a teen in the 70's, astrology was huge. I was not serving God during these years and I knew the Zodiac, and its signs, inside out. If I met a cute guy, I instantly found out what his sign was to see if we were compatible.

When I rededicated my life to Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit, I renounced any involvement with anything occult, including astrology. I mean, I stay away from it all with a vengeance.

But in the book, "Ladies of Gold", Frances Metcalf mentions, "The Gospel in the Stars" and I knew instantly, by the Spirit of God, that this was right.

God gave the Zodiac to Adam. I have always been a little skeptical about where 'they' got these pictures in the stars.  I mean to me, it's a little far-fetched to see these elaborate drawings from those six stars - right?  And because of my upbringing, I obviously associated these Zodiac figures with Greek gods (which I obviously don't believe in) and with astrology.

So I was amazed to find out that there's strong evidence that God gave these pictures in the sky to Adam and scripture to support that they tell a story and show the times that we're in!

"Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;" Genesis 1:14

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19:1

I don't think this was mentioned in the book, (I haven't read it all) but even the story of God taking Abraham and showing him all the stars in the sky and telling him that would be the number of his descendants - well, I think we've missed something huge in that story. (Gen 26)

The whole story of creation is told in the stars!  Every picture, every Zodiac sign, refers to a truth in the Gospel story.  Virgo the virgin (the virgin Mary), Libra the scales (the judgment of God), Scorpio (the sting of death through sin), Sagittarius the Bowman (pointed at Scorpio), Leo the Lion (of the tribe of Judah).  There are smaller less known pictures called Decans attached to each of these that continue to show the details of God's story and the plan of salvation.  For instance, attached to the Virgin is "Coma" the Infant, the Branch, the Desired One.  An infant attached to a virgin?

The other amazing thing is that because of the orbit of planets and stars, different things show up in the sky at different times and seasons.  Like the Star of Bethlehem!  And the Southern Cross.

"(The Southern Cross) was last seen in the horizon of Jerusalem about the time that Christ was crucified.  It consists of four bright stars placed in the form of a cross, and is by far the most conspicuous star-group in the southern heavens.  Standing directly in the path of the second Decan of Virgo, the double-natured Seed of the woman, and connecting with Libra and the price of redemption, it takes the same place in the celestial symbology which the Cross of Calvary holds in the Christian system." The Gospel in the Stars, page 37,38

I was struck by two major thoughts while reading this book.  The first was:  Of course the stars tell a story from God!  These pictures could have only been given by God.

A lot of people think that there has to be other life forms out there in the galaxies because of the millions of stars and planets, but I've always thought the Heavens were a message from God to show us how big He is and how precious we are.  This is a confirmation of that.  How could we have missed it?!

And two: the enemy always takes the things of God and perverts them to deceive us.  I am amazed that he has been so successful in this area.
" A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;  and she was with child; and she cried* out, being in labor and in pain to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.  And his tail swept* away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child." Revelation 12
This wonderful book, that was written in 1882, has so many wonderful facts and insights to the message that God has given us in the stars. He wrote it REALLY BIG so we wouldn't miss it. But we did. We let the enemy pervert it and attach all kinds of occult practices to it.
My hope is that the Body of Christ will take back the Zodiac and not let the message of the rainbow be tainted. Stand up, Body of Christ! Stand up with love and truth and righteousness and show the world the wonder of our God!  He holds the universe in the palm of His hand!  He is mighty in power and knows every star by name. Psalm 147:4
He has a plan for all creation.  He's known it since the beginning and set it on its course.  He's already written the end of the story and because of His sacrifice, we are victorious!  It's written in the stars!
love and blessings~

"Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing." Isaiah 40:26
