Les Belles Jardins

Hi all!

I can't believe that in some parts of the country summer vacation is over!  Here in Michigan, school doesn't start until the day after Labor Day, so we've got another month.  But then again, it doesn't really get warm here until July.

We don't really have a front porch - just a small area next to our front door where we have a cement bench.

My husband got me this bench for Mother's Day the first year we lived in our house.

White Phlox

Our garden goes right up to front door.  I planted a LOT of new things last summer.  We had such a hard winter this year that most of them did not survive.

This is my garden right outside our family room.  I've planted Strawberry Shortcake hydrangeas (which start out white and turn pink), balloon flowers, purple phlox, cone flowers, daisies, lilies, and Endless Summer hydrangeas.

The guest room also looks out on this garden.

Our peonies are no longer in bloom but they are beautiful every year!  I have 3 large plants along the front of our house.

Iris

I know some have had a really hot summer and are looking forward to cooler temps but this week our average high will be less than 80 degrees and it's wonderful.  I hope this weather lasts another couple of months!
