Summer Entry

I've read that your entry way should set the tone for your whole house.  I hope ours does that.
This table that my husband made a couple of years ago has been a fun place to display seasonal changes.  Making a Hall Table

Right now, I have a collection of Blue and White, bird cages and florals displayed as you come in the front door.
I've been on a spray painting kick the last couple of days.  I grabbed the bird cages, topiary frames and even my French shopping cart and gave everything a coat of antique white.

My husband finds it amusing when I 'do my thing' and stands around and teases me.  He managed to get into several pictures even though I kept warning him!  lol

This room has gone through several changes over the years and we recently got a new front door. This was not a luxury.  This past winter, I had to close the front door a couple of times with a screw driver! lol

After we had the new door and living room windows put in, we decided to replace the original moulding with 6" wide moulding.

Things went smoothly in the living room and dining room new windows but not so much at the front door.  Right now the front door is not closing the same as when it was installed because of some insulation that we needed to add so my poor husband keeps working with it.  Every morning I ask him, "Can I paint the moulding today?"  And every day the answer is, "No."  :)

This chair also recently got a paint job.  It's a little 'bright' and will probably get some antiquing soon.

Hope you're having a wonderful summer!  It's my favorite time of year and is always too short for me!

love and blessings~

  1. I always look forward to your posts Lynda. Your entry way is so pretty.
We have a few ( too many) projects started. The weather plays a bit into it all, with the summer afternoon rains . We have a patio, back garden beds, nook walls and the sun room. All in the process of being almost completed . I can hardly wait!
Happy weekend!! Mine will be BUSY with the 2 LITTLES this weekend.

    2. Beautiful entry. Love the blue and white, and I've always liked the idea of having a chair in one's entry. Unfortunately our entry is too small for anything other than a small chest.

  13. Lynda, from other posts of your home I've seen, your entry indeed is a welcoming sign of what's to come. You are so brave with waving that spray paint! I'm not sure I could've easily sprayed the market basket if it were mine, but it sure turned out great. Nice job, beautiful entry!
