I've made a lot of changes to our family room, dining room, living room and guest room but the biggest change has been our kitchen. And that may be the reason I quit for a while - it was exhausting.
I will post pictures of it another day. Today, I thought I'd post the changes in the family room.
The table my husband and I made still sits behind the couch. We still love all the furniture he's made and plan on making more. I've added a basket next to the couch that holds our winter throws. We've really needed them here in Michigan this winter as we've broken all kinds of record cold temperatures.
I added a beautiful beaded trim to some of my pillows that I made. This is still a cozy spot to sit next to the fire.
Our coffee table that we made from an industrial cart sits in front of our couch.
I wasn't using my collection of blue and white porcelain for a while but I added it back in and love the fresh contrast that it brings
I'll post some more details of this room in a couple of days.
I probably won't be able to post daily so please follow me on Facebook - Gates of Crystal or on Bloglovin'.
Also, if you are a Follower of Christ, please follow me on Summits of Rubies and if you're raising children, please follow my daughter, Laura Myers, on Foundations of Sapphires. The links are also listed along the side of the blog.
Love and blessings~

ReplyDeleteCan hardly wait for the kitchen.

DeleteLynda, your home is beautiful. I love the blend of the creamy whites, your soft, sky blues in your solids and toile, and the mix of sandy tans. Lovely style, design and execution.
ReplyDeleteRIta C at Panoply
Thank you, Rita! It's nice to be back. :)
DeleteMighty pretty! (a southern expression) Your room is so soft and soothing I don't think I'd ever get tired of the colors. I especially love your blue french chair and toile pillow. The mantle piece is beautiful with its silver candleholders. The bi-fold shutters( hope I've called them correctly) at the windows are so unique and a fabulous color. Great vision for what you wanted!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I meant to add, thank you for the Bible verses. They are sweet to the soul.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Connie! I appreciate your comments so much and I'm so glad the Bible verses are a blessing to you! We serve an awesome God!
DeleteI love your family room! I love the color palette... It's very soothing on the eyes. Makes me want to cozy right on in! I can't tell by the picture if the windows have real working indoor French blue shutters or if those are just for decor. Either way, I like them!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angelina! The bay window (featured in the next post) and the tall windows on either side of the fireplace have working shutters. The ones behind the couch are currently decorative but my husband thinks he's figured out how to make them functional. They are great for keeping out the cold Michigan winters! Either way, I like them, too! :) Thanks for visiting!
DeleteLynda, ypur home is amazing! Straight out of a magazine! I would love for you to stop by my blog and join our Something to Talk About link party each week!

Thank you, Candy! I mixed the family room paint myself but I went and found my paint swatches and I think it's safe to say that the family room is equivalent to Glidden Airy Blue - BHG102, the dining room is Valspar Churchill Hotel Ecru and the Entry Hall and shutters are Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua..
